Motorists will from today fork out more after the Petroleum Fund announced an increase in the price of petrol.

Petrol93 will now cost M0.50 more per litre while the price of petrol95 goes up M0.55 per litre.

However, there is joy for diesel users as its price decreases by M0.85 per litre.

The biggest winners in the price changes are illuminating paraffin users as the commodity will now costs a significant M1.20 less per litre.

Meanwhile, the Petroleum Fund has urged retails to charge the gazetted prices.

It said this appeal comes from past observations that some retailers have continued to charge more than the set prices.

“Any retailer found to be charging prices in contravention of these newly set prices would be prosecuted accordingly,” the organisation said in a statement yesterday.
