The Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) in collaboration with major stakeholders in the financial services sector has launched the Money Month Lesotho Campaign in Butha Buthe.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Plan your money. Plant your future’.

The campaign started on Thursday last week and ends on May 27.

The campaign was officially launched by Dr. Maluke Letete, Governor of Central Bank of Lesotho, in the District of Butha Buthe

Money Month is an annual public awareness campaign designed to empower the public with the necessary skills and techniques to effectively manage their personal financial resources.

“In light of the theme, participating organisations will, among others, educate the public on how to use money wisely including the basic understanding of financial issues such as budgeting, saving, investing, and managing risk and emotions about money,” said CBL in a statement.

This year’s Money Month Lesotho Campaign activities will take place in Maseru and Butha Buthe, it noted.

The CBL’s financial education steering committee will until Thursday this week engage a wide range of stakeholders on personal financial management in Butha Buthe, the statement added.
