Limkokwing University of Creative Technology yesterday visited two orphanages ‘Malibuseng in Maseru East and God’s Love Centre in Sehlabeng, Maseru with a view to celebrating Christmas and fighting poverty in the country.

The university through its Heal the World Foundation hosted a Christmas party for both homes and donated some food parcels.

During the visit The Limkokwing University of Creative Technology registrar ‘Mateboho Moorosi highlighted that it is the school’s mission to assist the government of Lesotho with achieving Sustainable Development Goals especially in and enriching the lives of Basotho and alleviating poverty in the mountain kingdom.

For his part, the Limkokwing University vice chancellor Tefo Macheli gave a vote of thanks to the caregivers of the ‘Malibuseng Orphanage stipulating that if it was not of the generosity of orphanages such as the ‘Malibuseng Orphanage, then the streets would be filled with children without love and shelter.

He said that the university realised that orphanages are faced with a lot of challenges therefore, it was important for them as the university to give especially during this time of festive season which is regarded as a time of giving and sharing.

“This is a time of giving and as the university we are to uplift the home’s children’s Christmas spirit so that they do not feel left out in this festivity where everyone is having a great time with their families.

“I urge Basotho as a whole to always visit homes such as this one and assist in whatever way they can as we have realised that the ministry of social development is faced with a lot of challenges and are not able to meet the needs of all orphanages,” he said.
