Baduza Family Park will be hosting the long awaited fifth annual Beer, Meat and Band Festival on October 29 this year at Baduza Park at Maseru Mall.
The coordinator of the festival Letapata Mohale explained that it has been happening since 2016 and was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mohale explained that when it started, the idea was to bring some spice in the country because back then there were not many festivals which incorporate events and variety of beers while meat festival was not there then.
He said Baduza as the venue decided to host its own event annually.
He revealed that there is a lot of craft beers to be displayed, which are found at rare outlets in the country and revellers will be taught about the crafts beers.
Mohale told theReporter this week that ideally, the festival is not everyone’s event urging that event organisers are very specific on the people they want to attend.
“Firstly our target market is cooperatives, secondly, we know people will attend but we are not really interested about the revellers.
“For cooperatives, we have what is called cooperative packages for people who will be attending from various companies.
“We are focusing on cooperatives because there is no event that hosts cooperatives at that magnitude,” he said.
Various kinds of meat like insides, lamb and pig on a spit, chicken shawarma, smoked chicken and chesa nyama, while the beer available will be MalutiLlager, Mohope Premium Lager, St Francis IPA, and Denis Peak IPA.
The bands that will be playing among many include Lady Zama from South Africa, Kitchen Moss from South Africa, Omali Themba from Lesotho and Valentine from Soujth Africa as well as Dj’s Thizozo, Bootz and Da Starr.
