Vodacom Lesotho Foundation (VLF) handed over a computer lab to Malealea Development Trust on Thursday last week.
Malealea Development Trust is a local organization that works tirelessly in the community to build a better tomorrow.
It was founded in 2002 by the Malealea Lodge with the sole focus on sustainable development of the community they call home.
The total package amounting to M1,200,000 consists of 20 computers, chairs, branding, solar power and free internet connection.
The computer lab will serve Malealea, Litsokeleng, Makhetheng and Botsoela Primary Schools as well as Malealea Secondary School.
Speaking at the handover, the director of Malea-lea Development Trust Khotso Au said he has been part of the trust for the past five years teaching computer studies at the schools surrounding Malealea.
Au expressed his gratitude, adding that it has been five years since the programme began although there was a massive shortage of computers.
“We had only 20 computers and many students. So we approached VLF to intervene. Hence this handing over of 20 more computers,” Au said.
