The National University of Lesotho (NUL) is in the process of migrating its learning management system “Thuto” to cloud to address the current challenges arising from limited server capacity and high maintenance costs.
This was revealed by the university’s vice chancellor Professor Isaac Olusola-Fajana on Monday.
Olusola-Fajana said this is a more affordable option that will allow more students and lecturers to access Thuto with ease.
“The recent integration of alternative presentation modes into Thuto have also enhanced its capacity and flexibility for enhanced efficiency,” Olusola Fajana observed.
NUL Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Kananelo Mosito said the status of teaching and learning of NUL saying that teaching and learning continued to take place predominantly online even when students had been excluded from campus.
Mosito also explained that with the resumption of work from January 3, 2022 teaching and learning are taking place in a blended manner with most work being done online while face-to-face sessions are used for practical sessions as authorized.
