The Lesotho army has urged members of the public residing in Naledi, Khubetsoana, Koalabata and Ha Mabote who fell prey as victims of gang attacks to report to the military police at the Ratjomose barracks in Maseru.

The Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) issued the warning yesterday following publication of photos of young men holding dangerous weapons. The pictures went viral on Wednesday this week on social media platform.

The LDF said people who were allegedly attacked by the gangsters in the above villages should report such incidents at the barracks from yesterday to today between the hours 8:00am and 16:00pm.

It is highly believed that the gang terrorises residents by robbing them of their belongings that range from cellphones, money and other valuable items.

army commandment, through Ha Ratjomose army headquarters urges, to Naleli, Khubetsaona, Koalabata and Ha Mabote residents who may have been victimized by a gang of young men who are believed to be robbing people, to report them at the military police offices, at Ha Ratjomose today or tomorrow between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00.

Several people have confirmed in various social media platforms that they were attacked by the gangs ay various places.

The Lesotho Mounted Police Services (LMPS) public relations officer Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli told this paper yesterday that although no one has come forward to lay a complaint about the attacks, police have started conducting investigations to establish the authenticity of the allegations.

The pictures show a group of young men armed with knives and other weapons in different positions triggering fears among the public.
