The Rotary Club of Maluti donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the media through the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Lesotho at a function held in Maseru on Thursday.

Rotary Club president, Yande Sikazwe-Mothae, acknowledged that the media has been taking risks to ensure that people stay informed and safe from COVID-19 during the time when it was too risky to be out in public, and it is through media that people were alerted of this pandemic.

The director of Information Technology at the ministry of communications, science and technology, Ramakhula Ramakhula said his ministry fully supports this donation to the media since they are also part of the front liners in the fight against COVID-19.

Forty 2-litre bottles of sanitizer and two thousand boxes of disposable masks were issued to the deputy chairperson of MISA-Lesotho, Kananelo Boloetse, by the president of Rotary Club of Maluti.

Each media house is expected to receive a box of masks, a bottle of sanitizer and six refill bottles.
