The Lesotho Red Cross (Society LRCS), with the support of Standard Lesotho Bank, handed over tippy tanks to the Lesotho Correctional Services this week.
Speaking at the event, the chairperson of Maseru Red Cross Division, Bataung Morakabi said due to COVID-19 which made has affected the country since last year, they had to do all they could to ease the impact of the pandemic, so they agreed on the setting up of tippy tanks.
The head of projects and transformation at Standard Lesotho Bank, Thabiso Tšenki said their collaboration with LRCS has seen them hand over tippy tanks to eight correctional service facilities in four districts namely Leribe, Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek and Maseru.
The principal secretary in the ministry of law and justice, Lebeko Sello, expressed his gratitude and informed the donors of the dire situation of female and juvenile inmates, who also need assistance.
