The ministry of small business development and cooperatives will hold a conference starting Monday next week to reconcile monies paid to wool and mohair farmers, with official records.
This follows the suspension late last year, of the brokering license of Maseru Dawning, a company owned by Chinese national Stone Shi.
Speaking at a press conference in Maseru on Friday, small business minister Thesele Maseribane said the conference is meant to pave way for the government to respond to longstanding calls by wool and mohair farmers for Shi to pay them for their commodities that were sold as far back as 2018.
Maseribane said the conference will be attended by all stakeholders and wool and mohair farmers. Transport has been organized to bring all farmers who have filed complaints so they can hear first-hand what happened.
The conference will be held at ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre.
