Government secretary Lerotholi Pheko has announced a scaling down of government services due to the current surge of Covid-19 in the country.

In a circular savingram today the GS said government services have been put to a halt in the face of the prevailing Covid-19 infections and fatalities.

Services will be offered on a limited basis for two weeks starting on the 11th to the 23rd of January 2021. This is to allow for the traffic that is caused by migrants who are getting back to work in South Africa.

Measures were taken to ensure that services are limited to essential and critical services, to ensure a safe environment, limit movement of officers to and from work, limit the number of contacts and offices and limit the transmission of paperwork between offices.
