St. Joseph Hospital has received a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from Nedbank to help prevent the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus better known as Covid-19.
The donation included sanitizers, dispensers, paper towels, face shields, N95 masks, and regular cloth masks.
The consignment worth M50,000 will assist to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which has killed at least 44 people in Lesotho. There are more than 2,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country.
Speaking during the handover of the donation on Friday, Nedbank Managing Director Nkau Matete said: “In times like this a lot of people could use this equipment.”
Matete added: “Since health practitioners are at the forefront of fighting the pandemic, the equipment is best given to them.”
Receiving the donation, the primary health care director at the St. Joseph Hospital, Dr. Kayombo Kambala, said tackling the virus requires everyone’s involvement.
Kambala, who is also the acting medical superintendent of the hospital, thanked Nedbank Lesotho for the donation of much-needed PPE.
