The founder of health brand Eden Foods, ‘Matšele Lephosa, is on a mission to promote healthier lifestyles and combat lifestyle-related diseases through holistic nutrition.
Although she originally pursued a degree in Computer Science and Statistics, Lephosa is now a certified holistic nutrition consultant and an aspiring doctor of holistic nutrition.
Her journey into wellness was inspired by her belief in the healing power of nature.
“Ancient civilisations experienced fewer health issues because they consumed natural, plant-based foods,” she explained. “Unlike today’s processed options, their diets were rich in whole foods, which contributed to their well-being.”
This philosophy drives her passion for advocating a holistic approach to health. Through Eden Foods, Lephosa educates individuals on the benefits of whole, nutrient-dense foods and empowers them to make informed dietary choices that support their wellness goals.
Lephosa produces a wide range of plant-based products, including superfoods, ready-to-eat meals, grains, and plant-based milk. Many of these are crafted from raw materials or sourced directly from local farms to ensure both freshness and sustainability.
“Using high-quality ingredients is key. We prioritise local sourcing to support the community and reduce the environmental impact of long-distance transportation,” she pointed out.
In addition to producing these nutritious offerings, Lephosa is actively distributing her products to retailers, pharmacies, supermarkets, and through her own one stop health shop.
She also has plans to export internationally.
“We want to take Eden Foods global. This expansion will not only grow our brand but also allow us to share the benefits of plant-based nutrition with a wider audience,” she said.
Lephosa believes that entering global markets will contribute to a worldwide shift towards healthier, more sustainable food choices.
Her commitment to community, sustainability, and informed wellness choices is at the heart of her work.
“My goal is to empower people to make better dietary decisions,” she added. “By embracing the abundance of nature, we can create a healthier, more vibrant world – one plate at a time.”
