Standard Lesotho Bank (SLB) yesterday launched the 2024 edition of the Standard Lesotho Bank LETOFE Lifestyle Experience.

The event began as a jazz show in 2004 but it has since evolved into a lifestyle event experience that includes food, drinks, art, and more.

The festival will this year be held at Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village on 21 December under the theme: ‘We live, we love, and we connect’.

Speaking at a press conference in Maseru on Tuesday this week, SLB brand and marketing manager of communication and sponsorships, Manyathela Kheleli, said the bank is always proud to sponsor the festival.

The partnership is also SLB’s way of expressing gratitude to its customers and helping to create a conductive environment for Basotho entrepreneurs to thrive.

“This festival is our flagship sponsorship and it resonates well with our brand.

“Over the years, the bank and LETOFE have been inseparable, and we feel that this is an important contribution that we are making towards the promotion of arts and culture in Lesotho and the rest of Africa,” Kheleli said.

He noted that LETOFE Lifestyle Experience is an investment to the local economy and the artistic industry.

This investment should therefore not be taken only in the light of bringing great entertainment to Basotho, but also taking into consideration the economics spin offs that they stand to derive out of the initiative.

“We are now 20 years on the trot and we are proud that we have been a significant contributor to the growth of this festival, which has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the biggest features on our entertainment calendar during the festive season,” Kheleli prided.

He further indicated that, to celebrate this 20th edition, which also resonates with 200 years of the founding of the Basotho nation, they have a better line up than last year’s, headlined by Zonke and Lira.

On his part, LETOFE Lifestyle Experience promoter, Montoeli ‘Moleli said, “We want this prestigious festival to evolve and align with developments in the industry, where we are seeing festivals transcending beyond the bounds of music.”

He urged Basotho to keep supporting the festival and to embrace the new changes that the event will bring as it evolves.

‘Moleli further called upon all Basotho to look at this festival as the organisers’ contribution to the promotion of the entertainment industry in Lesotho.

He said the event is also their way of acknowledging the talent in the country as an avenue for cross fertilisation for local artists to experience and see how other artists present their craft.
