Women led non-profit making organisation, She-Hive yesterday hosted an event to promote men’s health and encourage them to be at the forefront of the fight against gender-based violence (GBV).

The global event, known as Movember, included activities such as aerobics, yoga, and boxing, at Bambatha.

Operations and programme manager at She-Hive, Refiloe ‘Mamolise, said the activities were part of International Men’s Day, which seeks to recognisethe positive value men bring to the world, their families, and communities.

She-Hive has been commemorating Movembersince 2016, she noted.

The aim is to involve men in the fight against GBV and to provide them with an opportunity to relieve stress.

Since men often find it difficult to talk about their problems, this day was chosen to help them express themselves.
