The office of the Auditor-General (AG) has released the first edition of the summarised and simplified reports of the auditor-general on the consolidated financial statements for the year ended March 31, 2022.
According to a statement issued this week by the AG’s communication office, the reports are designed to offer citizens a clear overview of how public resources were managed across various government ministries and agencies.
While the AG’s primary responsibility is in auditing public resources, the office is further committed to ensuring that the reports it issues are easily accessible and comprehensible to all citizens, empowering them to make well-informed decisions when needed.
The summarised reports are published in both Sesotho and English, ensuring that they can be understood by all citizens.
“We urge our stakeholders and all interested parties to visit the office of the AG website to access these reports at www.auditorgeneral.org.ls. “Availing the reports online aligns with the Office’s commitment to enhancing public access to information, promoting informed public discourse, and participation in good governance, and public financial management, leading towards improved accountability and service delivery,” the statement said.
