The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is hosting a seminar in Maseru today aimed at enhancing the capacity of security agency heads on electoral security matters.
The seminar focused on reinforcing key security principles and values while emphasizing collaboration for a safe electoral environment.
“This seminar on electoral security is centred on fostering cooperation to ensure a secure election process and clarifying the roles of security agencies in safeguarding electoral management bodies,” IEC public relations officer Tuoe Hantsi said.
The initiative aims to help both the IEC and security agencies formulate strategic plans to mitigate potential risks during elections, he noted.
