2% salary hike for public servants

The minister of finance and development planning, Dr Retṧelisitsoe Matlanyane, has proposed to increase government employees’ salaries and wages by two percent across the board.

Dr Matlanyane made this announcement when presenting the 2025/2026 budget speech in parliament today.

She said the adjustment is meant to preserve the workers’ take-home pay.
