Local clothing brand and store, Joachim Garments has officially become the producer of Matlama FC attire, promising to enhance local employment and curb counterfeit merchandise.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Joachim Garments and Matlama Football Club have signed a five-year contract, establishing the store as the official producer of all Matlama attire, from on-field jerseys to off-field apparel for players and fans.

Speaking at the signing ceremony yesterday, Matlama communication and marketing manager, Ramafahla Thamae, underscored the dual purpose of this collaboration: reducing unemployment and combating the proliferation of counterfeit merchandise.

He stated that the authentic Matlama FC jerseys will be available exclusively at Joachim Garments, priced at M600.

This initiative marks a significant milestone as Matlama FC becomes the first local team to don attire produced by a Basotho brand.

Thamae highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses, asserting that this partnership will create job opportunities for the Basotho nation and deter the production of fake merchandise, with legal actions promised against offenders.

Katiso Joachim Tsoho, the creative director of Joachim Garments, shared that the new attire is designed to reflect the rich culture of Basotho and the spirit of Matlama FC.

This collaboration not only elevates the team’s identity but also fosters community pride and economic growth.
