Rising urban famo star, Relebohile Monaphathi, popularly known as Sannere, has earned six nominations at the Lesotho Music Awards, validating his growing stature and unique artistry and deep connection to Sesotho culture.

From being recognised as the Best Male Artist to dominating the Best Collaboration/Duo category with three nominations, Sannere’s talent shines through. He has also secured nominations for the coveted Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey.

Since embarking on his musical career in 2018, Sannere has undergone a remarkable transformation. His evolution as an artist is evident through his collaborations with notable musicians and his participation in major events that have further solidified his presence in the industry.

His artistry serves as a reflection of the rich and diverse Sesotho culture, where poetic lyrics and soulful melodies invite listeners on an emotional journey.

Sannere’s music captures the essence of the Sesotho language, creating a profound connection with his audience.

In a recent interview with theReporter, Sannere expressed his excitement about the six nominations, attributing his success to the unwavering support and love from his fans.

He noted that this recognition is a testament to his hard work and dedication. “What makes me unique is that people find me different from others,” he shared, promising to continue creating music that resonates with his audience.

Sannere highlighted that his nominations stem from his EP albums, “Phabalimo” and “Bahale,” where he collaborated with other talented artists.

He believes that winning an award would symbolise the love people have for his music and validate his efforts in the industry.

His message to aspiring artists is one of encouragement: “Don’t be discouraged by your struggles. Continue making music with passion, dedication, and love.”

To stay relevant in the ever-evolving music scene, Sannere draws inspiration from the past, present, and future, ensuring his music reflects the changing tides of time. His commitment to his craft is evident in the success of his EP “Phabalimo,” which has amassed an impressive four million streams on Spotify.

Looking ahead, Sannere has ambitious dreams for the next five years. He aspires to establish a major record label in Lesotho, aimed at not only promoting his music but also nurturing upcoming artists.

“This record label will assist new talents in finding their voice,” he stated, demonstrating his desire to give back to the community that has supported him.

In a poignant moment, Sannere also mentioned his collaboration with the late artist Malome Vector, revealing that their song was released on November 22 of this year. This collaboration serves as a reminder of the legacy and impact of artists who have shaped the music landscape in Lesotho.
