Excelling artists to be awarded

Melodious Music Awards announced yesterday that it will hold the 1st National Music Awards atthe ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre on Friday next week.

The inception of this initiative took place in September 2023, when a group of local artistsunited to develop this ambitious project. 

A member of the Lesotho Copyright Society of Authors and Artists, Maema Chaka, said throughout the course of their efforts, a series of encouraging advancements emerged, notably the establishment of a partnership with the ministry of tourism, sports, arts, and culture. 

Chaka said this collaboration has the potential to significantly enhance the project’s scope and impact, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and resources.

“The upcoming event, poised to be a significant milestone in the music industry and is designed to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary talents that abound within this vibrant field. Today serves as an opportunity to delve deeply into the importance of the occasion

“There are various categories and genres that will be honoured and this is expected to have an influence on the music landscape,” he noted.

Chaka also indicated that people can look forward to an engaging exploration of the event’s implications, as well as the recognition of the artists who have made remarkable contributions to the industry.
