Exhibition celebrates arts icon Meshu

The PR and Brand Network, in partnership with The Market Restaurant, yesterday officially launched the Portraits of a Nation exhibition through a media and sponsorship event.

The launch brought together dignitaries from various organisations, media representatives, and art enthusiasts to unveil the initiative’s rationale and concept, while offering a glimpse into the remarkable work of renowned artist, Meshu Mokitimi.

The highlight of the event was Meshu’s personal account of his artistic journey, both as an artist and as a creative navigating the landscape of Lesotho.

In his remarks during the event, Meshu reflected on pivotal moments in his career and celebrated his notable achievements.

He emphasized the significance of this event not only for himself, but for the broader creative community in the country.

The legend also expressed his gratitude towards the likes of Dr Kelello Lerotholi and others who have consistently purchased his artwork, enabling him to sustain his livelihood through his passion.

Meshu commended the PR and Brand Network for their visionary concept, stating that he would be a “doormat” for the initiative, willing to walk every step with them and offer his unwavering support. He sees this project as a goodwill tribute and a significant step towards nurturing the local artistic community.

The initiative is not just about celebrating Meshu, but also about improving the livelihoods of all creatives in the country by providing them with much-needed opportunities and support.
