The European Union (EU) and UNICEF will on Thursday this week launch a joint initiative known as Youth Power Hub at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.
This initiative aims to foster an inclusive, participatory, and accountable environment for meaningful and sustained engagement by youth in Lesotho in decision-making.
It will be launched by minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development, Pitso Lesaoana, the Head of the EU Union Delegation, Paola Amadei, UNICEF Lesotho Country Representative, Deepak Bhaskaran as well as International Organisation for Migration officer in charge, Masoai Dennis.
Youth Power Hub Initiative will be running from this year to 2029 and will be implemented across all the 10 districts of Lesotho. It targets youth between the ages of 10 and 25.
Adolescent girls and young women, youth with disabilities, youth in the diaspora, youth living in the rural areas, and migrants are among are among the people targeted by the Youth Power Hub.
Involving young people in decision-making fosters a broader base of citizen engagement and cultivates stronger and more inclusive communities.
