Two people died under a hail of bullets in a shootout that happened in the early hours of Tuesday at the Maseru Bridge on the South African side.
According to Free State police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, Maseru Bridge police were summoned at about 04:50 to an incident at the long-distance taxi drop-off near the border post after reports of shooting.
