The price of petroleum products has dropped with effect from today.

A statement issued yesterday by the Petroleum Fund Secretariat stated that the pump price of both grades of petrol (Petrol93 and Petrol95) will decrease by ninety Lisente (0.90) per litre.

Diesel50 will cost ninety Lisente (M0.90) less per litre, while the price of illuminating paraffin will decline by one Loti (M1.00) per litre.

The new retail prices are as follows:

Petrol93- M22.35 per litre

Petrol95- M22.80 per litre

Diesel50- M222.45 per litre

Illuminating paraffin (Retail) – M16.60 per litre

“We wish to appeal to all retailers to confirm to the said gazette. This appeal comes from past observations that some retailers have continued to charge prices that are above those published.

“Any retailer who will be found to be charging prices in contravention of these newly set prices shall be prosecuted accordingly,” the statement noted.
