Prime minister Sam Matekane will participate at the Korea-Africa Business Summit to be held in Ilsan, South Korea, from June 4-5.
The summit will be attended by African leaders, South Korean officials, and international organisations to discuss industrial development, trade, food and mineral security, and climate change.
The meeting will be held under the theme: “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity.”
According to a statement released by the prime minister’s office this week, the summit will be a grand-scale economic event where major government officials, business leaders and economic experts will discuss industrial development and other issues of mutual interest to South Korea and Africa.
“All issues that will be discussed at the summit form priorities in the Lesotho’s National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) II.
“Since the NSDP opts for private sector led economy, the summit presents a good opportunity for Lesotho to attract investors,” the statement noted.
Matekane’s delegation will include the minister of information, communication, science, technology and innovation, Nthati Moorosi, minister of energy, Prof Nqosa Mahao, and minister of trade, industry and business development, Mokhethi Shelile.
