DMA boss gunned down

‘Mantšali Phakoana
Disaster Management Authority (DMA) Chief Executive Officer ‘Makhotso Mahosi (46) was shot dead at her home in Ha Matala last night.
Preliminary police reports show that Mahosi and her nine-year-old child were killed by unknown men, while their helper was critically injured during the shooting.
Acting police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Kabelo Halahala confirmed the incident today.
“We have received a report that she was shot dead but I do not have full details. Our police officers are still at the scene, I will know as soon as they return,” Halahala told theReporter.
Mahosi was a primary witness before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) investigating reckless spending of COVID-19 funds in 2020.
She was facing charges of fraudulently awarding a M4 538 900. 14 tender to one local construction company to build a bridge in Seboche, Botha-Bothe, among other charges. She was out on M10 000 bail.
