Serial entrepreneur, Mosothoana Mofoka has ended his two-year hiatus from the entertainment scene and is now firmly on a comeback trail.
The cinematographer and photographer disappeared from social media and his clients in November 2020 and reappeared in December last year.
He recalls his life was perfect before he went missing in action at a time he was making a lot of money. Now he enthuses it is all coming back slowly but surely.
Popularly known as Phil Vigilante, the Ha Pita born and bred lens man said he is venturing into multiple companies and buying shares in different ones.
The shutter bug said he has been going through a lot including dealing with mental health issues for about three months. He eventually got help from his mother’s church through prayers.
He recalls that at one point he could not remember his name nor his family members. He would look like those mentally unstable men seen in the streets of Maseru. That’s how bad it was.
Along the way, the content creator became a drug addict as he lost himself in designer substances such as crystal meth, cocaine and cat.
“I used to have minimum of three bags of crystal meth daily. I got extreme skinny and paranoid while other drugs were just substitutes, which nearly cost me my life and career.
“Luckily, I managed to self-recover by the mercy of God, with the help of my loving girlfriend with whom we were recently blessed with a beautiful baby girl born on the August 26 who goes by the name Naledi Grace Vigilante Mofoka,” he said.
Mofoka told theReporter this week that he returned for two main reasons; firstly, there are young kids who said they needed more of his motivation and inspiration and free elementary photography lessons he gave on his Facebook page.
Secondly, he bounced back because he is now a father and family man, having married the same girlfriend who pulled him out of the dark abyss.
His motto is ‘Why not remind the game who is king’.
“I have grown to the highest levels of divinity. I have upgraded from a boy to a wolf. I came through a lot of things, saw a lot and conquered all because along the way for two years only death made sense, with no hope of life.
“I am changing my perception of friends and circles. I realised that most come in my life to take instead of building, so my vigilance has been modified for perfection now.
“I am also going to pay my dues by changing the whole art and entertainment sector through my recently launched entertainment company, Grim VQ Entertainment, which targets all art and entertainment in general at the highest best levels of outcomes,” he said.
Mofoka left Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in his last semester in 2018 to become a photographer doing jobs for corporates and ordinary clients.
He is known for creating music videos like Ke Thata and Weather Forecast, Koarantine by Ntate Stunna, and shooting the music video for Koae ya Balimo by Pitso Rahmakhula.
