The love for organic food and a passion for a healthy balanced lifestyle motivated ‘Maliteboho Mositi to found Luti Organics – a rising food processing company that is currently only specialising in the production of a variety of sauces.
Mositi is savvy entrepreneur and self driven business professional. Having studied business studies, she has gained plenty of experience in all things business and has 20 years of experience in customer management.
Throughout the years, her work experience and environment brewed within her a passion for business and entrepreneurship, consequently resulting in the birth of her pride and joy, Luti Organics.
From 2002 till 2019, Mositi was actively working as orders’ controller at Lesotho Flour Mills. Her involvement in this has allowed her to gain tonnes of knowledge and experience in terms of food processing, which has equipped her into one of the great, idiosyncratic talents in the food processing industry.
Mositi then decided to join the Farmer’s Pitso trade fare in 2022, where she was able to network and engage with a number of local vegetable farmers.
From there it was up for Mositi, as she finally had all that she needed in order to turn her passion into reality.
Luti Organics is a fairly new establishment that has only been running for 11 months. However, it is clear to see that this business is certainly on the up and up. Sauces produced by the company not only add rich and palatable flavouring to meals, they manage to do this all the whilst ensuring that the sauces are fresh and healthy as well.
This publication took the time to ask Mositi about the challenges she faces in this specific part of the food industry and this is what she had to say: “Capital injection is on of the few challenges we face as a small business. Other than that, a problem that actually has the potential to hinder production is the usage of seasonal crops.”
Luckily, Mositi is an expert at turning lemons into lemonade and refuses to let any challenges get in the way of growing and expanding her business.
She said focusing on introducing a healthier lifestyle to fellow Basotho is all that she needs to keep her motivated enough to push through and ensure success.
“We advocate for a healthy lifestyle, and want consumers to be able to indulge in a healthy lifestyle without having to settle for bland foods,” she noted.
Luti Organics hopes to grow and finally reach the stage where exportation of the sauces is possible, and where they can finally put their sauces in shelves all over the world.
They currently have four sauces, namely: sweet chilli; Portuguese chicken; lemon and herb and Cincinnati garlic sauce. These sauces come in sizes ranging from 250ml to 5ltrs. They offer discounts and volume sales, whilst their prices begin at M45.
Currently, Mositi is selling her products from Lithabaneng, Maseru. From next month, her sauces will be available at MILCO, Sefuba complex. Contact her on 58855012 and she will have her products in your hands in 48 hours.
