A collaborative initiative to impart essential digital connectivity and entrepreneurship and soft skills to 5,000 young adults in Lesotho will be officially launched in Maseru on Thursday this week.
The programme aims to close the gap for 20,000 young people who have not had access to the digital world and to give them soft skills to begin their careers or start their own businesses.
The project dubbed Tech@Work is spearheaded by Microsoft, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), and the Association of Lesotho Employers and Business (ALEB).
The nine-day online training course delivers introductory instruction on popular collaborative presentation and data management software.
“We’ve tailored this programme specifically for young adults aged 16 to 35 who have completed primary school and are eager to embark on entrepreneurial paths or enhance their employability,” said the organisers at a press statement today.
“Together, we have the opportunity to light the path to a promising future for Lesotho’s youth, equipping them with the vital tools required to succeed in the digital economy,” it noted.
Successful participants will be awarded a certificate upon completion.
