Insurance broker, Signature Risk Consultancy scooped three awards at the Alliance Insurance Brokers awards which were held in Maseru last week Friday.

Alliance Insurance Brokers awards are a platform to recognise excellence in brokering services, as well as performance improvement platform for brokers.

The awards appreciate brokers’ support, recognise excellence and improved broker performance and encourage risk consciousness within the brokerage sector.

Signature Risk Consultancy as one of the nominated insurance brokers, received three awards; Most improved claims Tier1, Gross Premium Income-Growth and Overall winner.

It walked away with four holiday tickets to Cape Town and a branding hamper.

Signature Risk Consultancy are leaders in specialist risk insurance with a focus in construction, customs bonds, fuel guarantees, mining rehabilitation guarantees, cannabis insurance, credit insurance and we have a specialist partnerships business.

Its risk solutions and growing capacities have evolved through the close relationships developed with some of the leading insurers.

The executive director of Signature Risk Consultancy, Tṧepo Ramaema, told theReporter that their focus is predominantly on a short term insurance where contract can range anywhere 1-12 months, so within that contract/ financial year, performance is measured in terms of claims against the premium income one has collected, also known as claims ratio.  If a broker’s premium income is significantly higher than claims for that year, then that broker fell under most improved claims.

When addressing their GPI award, he said this relates to the gross premium income a broker has remitted to Alliance for that year. And to his surprise, Signature also scoped the best performing in that category.

“Signature Risk Consultancy has improved because it has given Alliance Insurance more business this financial year,” he said.

Ramaema explained that there are many categories at the broker’s awards and they did not know that they would be nominated for which category.

“Alliance Insurance was celebrating 30 years, and also celebrating the relationship with stakeholders involved in their business.”

He noted that being nominated and going on to win was a very humbling career highlight because it directly conveys the culmination of the team’s efforts to make a significant contribution in the industry.

“The industry is a very small economy but we try to make a big significant impact,” he said.
