Matekane recommits to reforms

Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane says his coalition government is committed to effectively forging ahead with the national reforms which had not been passed by the 10th parliament.

Speaking at a meeting with political leaders in the 11th parliament of Lesotho, Matekane said this was their 14th meeting since he was inaugurated as prime minister. He said consultations on the implementation of reforms with relevant stakeholders were successfully completed.

He emphasized that even though the reform’s process is not an easy journey, his government with the support from other stakeholders would sail ensure that the reforms sail through.

In April 2017, Lesotho political parties signed a pledge committing to implement the national reforms meant to usher in a new era of stability in Lesotho.
