Sip, a vision that started in June 2020 and ended prematurely due to the Covid-19 outbreak, is back on track after being reignited in August 2022.

Sip is a juice made from natural fruits, behind it are three gentlemen Fusi Maoeng, Bafokeng Nkhasi and Rethabile Senekane.

Sip has the apple blend, pineapple and rosehip flavours. Rosehip is one of the team’s unique flavours, indigenously called “Morobei” (strawberry).

The team also bottles spring water branded  Devoute water.

Maoeng revealed that the name Sip really is not really rocket Science really and it was introduced by one of them Nkhasi.

“Sip in the literal sense, because we figured that when people taste our juice, they would want to savour every drop, hence they would want to sip until the last drop of the juice.

“As for the name of our water brand, Devoute, it does have some sentimental meaning. Water is a source of life. We believe that when you drink water you get a heavenly sense of life, you feel alive.

“Devoute means heavenly. So basically, we are bringing heavenly life to the people,” he explained succinctly.

Maoeng, who is more into the marketing side of the business, told theReporter this week that the motivation behind the juice was the need for thirst quenching especially in the extremely hot conditions prompted by the ever changing climate conditions caused by global warming.

He said if the team had a range of satisfactory flavours that would tingle the taste buds of the consumer and also nourish and hydrate them, they would have what the people need all seasons long.

“The way we mix our ingredients is special, as we have also incorporated a combination of fruit in one, which is something different.

“For example, with our apple flavour, we have a combination of three types of apples; the red, green and yellow. It gives it a unique taste that will leave people wanting more. One sip, can turn into a thousand sips,” Maoeng emphasised.

He clearly continued: “Sip is a juice and when a person drinks it the juice, the body can absorb nutrients quickly, without having to digest fibres and other components in whole foods.

“The juice also allows consumers to get a broader intake of vitamins and minerals, not forgetting the essential value, which is to quench thirst.”

However, Maoeng said that currently the juice is still available upon order from them but disclosed that there are stores and mini markets that have already shown high interest in retailing the product. For that reason, as time goes on they shall enlist the names of the places, nationwide at which the product can be bought.

Currently, the juices at retails is sold for a very low M12 and the water retails at M6.

The team encourages people to buy the products because it does not only guarantee effective nutritional value, but it also guarantees absolute satisfaction.
