By ‘Majirata Latela

A government gazette on the recalling of parliament has been published today, officially recalling the tenth parliament of Lesotho.

According to the gazette the recalling is to deal with the business of passing the Bills into law in order to overcome the public emergency.

“Owing to this urgent need, parliament shall convene on the 24th August to 29th August 2022, thereafter shall stand resolved,” reads the gazette.

On 16 August 2022 Prime minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro declared state of emergency as a need for parliament for the tenth parliament to complete the 11th amendment to the Constitution, Bill 2022 and the National Assembly Electoral Bill, 2022.
