Econet Telecom Lesotho, through its initiative of supporting education called Higher Life Foundation, sent of two of their beneficiaries to study abroad yesterday.

The two recipients are Nthati Lehloenya from Kolonyama in Leribe and Mahali Mabesa from Ha Khabo in the same district; they are due to leave for the United States of America to further their studies.

Lehloenya is set to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering at Oklahoma University while Mabesa will be studying towards a degree in Statistics at Colby College.

Higher Life Foundation is a social impact organization that invests in human capital to build thriving individuals, communities and sustainable livelihoods.

The two students joined Higher Life Foundation in 2016 while still in high school at Sofia International School

Delivering her farewell speech, Lehloenya indicated that her life has never been the same since being part of Higher Life Foundation.

“I fall short of words when it comes to this foundation because it has transformed my life. Since Higher Life came into our lives we never had to worry about school finances; therefore, I am very much grateful.

“I am a single orphaned child who was raised by a single mother. For years I had to watch her struggle to give my siblings and me the best education but later, the foundation came to her aid,” she said.

Since the beginning of this initiative, the foundation has sponsored 524 students and 20 of these beneficiaries have had the opportunity to study in USA.
