Financial service provider Vodacom Lesotho today motivated its Mpesa agents by providing them with various revenue options in Maseru.
One of the 30 agents walked away with M100 000 courtesy of the company’s 100k Campaign.
Vodacom’s financial service managing director Palesa Mphunyetsane said Vodacom Mpesa agents are its backbone because they enable customers to access services.
Mphunyetsane said in 2016 when the campaign of Mpesa agents started, one agent walked away with a car.
She said in 2020 no campaign took place due to COVID-19 but in 2021/2022, VCL financial services advised itself to give away M100 000.
“COVID-19 messed up a lot of businesses and the M100 000 is meant to help such businesses improve,” Mphunyetsane said.
There are more than 10 000 Mpesa agents registered in Lesotho.
