Local rapper Rethabile Themba, also known as ‘3rd Eye’, has released a hot hip hop gem called ‘Nka e etsa nyaka-nyaka’. This is a Sesotho track which has a mixture of rhythmic and flow bits. The song will be streamed on various social media platforms from today.

In an interview with theReporter, Themba said the message behind his song is that ‘he can do it’, and it simply expresses how he feels about his music production and regards himself as a good artist.

“Nka e etsa, is my latest song engineered by Dizzy Hop Music. I have done it just to express myself and I agree with the fact that it has been scientifically proven that 3rd Eye can never make bad songs,” he banters.

Besides this single, he has churned out at least tracks since 2016, and is currently working on five other songs.

The 26-year old singer was born and raised at Cana in the Berea district. Apart from music, he is currently a third year student, studying Fitting and Machining at Lerotholi Polytechnic.

Themba’s devotion to music began when he was young; he went on to join a church choir and that’s where he actually noticed that he could sing. He released his first song titled Tsotsi in 2016.

Asked about the challenges he encounters in the music industry, 3rd Eye indicated that music itself is a challenge especially in Lesotho where there isn’t enough financial support.

“Local artists are not taken seriously at all by those in authority, hence it becomes a bit challenging when it comes to funding. We really appeal for financial support as local artist in order to be catapulted on to the international stage.

In conclusion, Themba said he would like to see himself as the most accomplished musical in the world.

“From now onwards I want to see myself as a very big artist like Cassper Nyovest,” he concluded.
