Thato Naleli Rannana, a model at Sothokids culture agency, will be launching her book titled Me, Myself and Art on April 30.
Me, Myself and Art was written in four years beginning 2018-2021 and those were the most productive times of Thato.
She told theReporter that most of the times have been birthed by the fires she went through alone and sometimes she involved other people in it.
Thato said she was burning with desire to let people know that she could survive the fire.
The book is about some political issues that not only Lesotho is facing but also the whole continent. It touches on fears that people think they do not have until they realise that their actions are triggered by the same fears they keep running away from.
The 21-year old starlet said the book is motivated by her life so she decided to write poems from when she was 15 years of age. When she turned 17 years old, she decided to compile them as her life experiences.
The brand ambassador for Qiloane Hats revealed that the book is not her first but it is her first solo one as she is part of an anthology of poems called Echoes of the Kingdom which is a collection of 24 poems by 10 poets.
“Life and everything that’s conversational inspires me to write,” the Ha Thetsane based scribe said.
Thato, who has her own show called Art Lounge with Atandwa says the book will be read by the youth who are scared to live their own lives. She strongly believed that children, poets, artists and politicians will be among the readers.
She said the event will have keynote speakers, well known people, performances and coverage from a TV show, while others “are to be a surprise to many.”.
Lerato Mohale, owner of publishing company Beesting Production, where Echoes of the Kingdom was published, told the publication that Thato is a good writer.
“One can tell that she lets her heart pour out on paper because her writings and personality are very much in it. She is very outspoken and opinionated and her writings express that,” Lerato said.
Thato is also part of a contributor to a book that was written by Writer’s Space Africa Lesotho for Khosatsana called Ode To The Angel Above
