Puseletso Matsepe’s long-held idea, which she had conceived since 2006, finally became a reality in 2019 when she established her business – INTACT Perfumes and Skin Care Products.

INTACT Perfumes and Skin Care Products is a business that specializes in fragrances and other perfumed products like roll-ons and face washes.

Matsepe reveals that she has always loved cosmetics and smelling good since she was a young girl and the establishment of the business is proof of such.

In an interview with theReporter, Matsepe said she did not formally study anything related to beauty or make-up, but she received her training online from people she met on social media platforms.

Letting us in on the secrets of the world of fragrances, Matsepe said there are two words that she uses to described different portfolios of perfumes, namely ‘artisan’ and ‘exceptional’.

“INTACT Perfumes and Skin Care Products is one of the growing cosmetics brands in the country, from the quality of the base materials to the innovation in the production and the design and packaging.

“INTACT has a wide range of fragrances from men’s colognes to ladies’ fragrances. Our perfumes are strong and last long,” she explained.

The 42-year old innovator is based in Mafeteng where she works as a primary school teacher but INTACT Skin Care Products operates in Mohale’s Hoek.

“We have three brands of face wash. Wheat germ face wash helps remove pimples, black spots, blemishes and leaving the skin flawless. Acanthe face wash which protects the skin against hot sunny days, leaving it moist, radiant and flawless throughout the year. The last face wash is called First tea; it is gentle on all skin types, and restores all youthful lost cells of the skin,” she said.

Matsepe says even though she does acknowledge the stiff competition she is up against, she rates herself among the bigger more established companies due to her market strategy.

“I want to be known in every corner of the country. Of course I am well aware that for a company to grow, it needs to have a broad client base.”

INTACT products are sold in cosmetics shops and selected supermarkets in Hlotse, TY, Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek and Quthing.  The products are also sold by individuals who buy in bulk to resell. A 30 percent profit is assured when buying in bulk.
