Twenty-five-year old Koali Posholi has changed the narrative of gender norms when he ventured into the nail business in January 2022.

Nothing was going to stand in the way of the nail technician to go after his dream. He said that being a male did not stop him from pursuing the nail business as it is regarded as a women’s job.

He has become a sensation since he began involvement in the art. He describes it as unbelievable due to the support he has received during his short period in the small business.

“I only commenced doing nails two weeks ago. However, the support I have received thus far is enormous. This shows that people appreciate my work and I am forever grateful,” Posholi said.

The nail technician stipulated that he had a habit of biting his nails. He was uncomfortable with the looks of his nails. He then began following nail tutorials online so as to improve the condition of his nails.

Later, he came across videos and images of men who had their nails done which inspired him more. He realized that he could actually make it a business and not only perfect the appearance of his nails but those of others too.

However, he said although he had watched these tutorials for a while now, he never anticipated that he would one day take a leap of faith and make it what it is today.

He is glad that such a business enables him to pay his bills including rent now that he lives in Ha Thetsane in Maseru.

Posholi foresees a glimmering future in this business and wishes to make a success of the nail business.

His eyes are also set on establishing own nail studio while wishing to pass on his skills to other aspiring youth.

Apart from the nail business, is dug in dance choreographer. He would be booked in for performances in various events but that was halted by the emergence of Covid-19 that triggered lockdown restrictions.

Recently, he hosted two attractive events dubbed Nka e Koala Tour and Mid-Night Kiss, both hosted in December last year.

Posholi’s business is located at Metcash Building, in Confidence hair salon. He can be contacted on the mobile phone number +266 59008339.
