Broadcasting company Pule Communications International (PCIN) has introduced its first channel that will be accessible through a Network Receiving Device (NRD).

PCIN was founded in 2016 with the aim of giving local producers a platform to showcase their content. It also offers cloud storage for its subscribers.

In an interview with theReporter, the founder of PCIN Kevin Pule said the first channel of PCIN which is called PCIN Channel 1 is a television channel which was introduced in 2021.

Pule said that PCIN Channel 1 only airs local content, from local movies to talk-show and morning shows which are produced directly by PCIN.

He continued to say that the company also accepts content from other local producers.

He revealed that PCIN has a policy that states that 20 percent content should be produced in-house, meaning it should be produced by PCIM while the remaining 80 percent should be from other local producers.

Pile explained that for one to have access to the channel one needs to buy the NRD which amounts to M399.

He revealed that the NRD gets manufactured outside the country because Africa does not produce it, so PCIN imports it.

“The device works like a decoder. It can be connected to a television by a high definition multi-media interface (HDMI) cable via a laptop or projector.

“We install the channel for Basotho for only M90. The subscription fee is M60 monthly. That is how affordable it is,” Pule said.

The 26-year old content creator said he realized that Lesotho is a country where the power of entertainment to enrich lives has not been explored fully.

He mentioned that there are broadcasting networks available in other African countries like DSTV in South Africa and Kwese in Zimbabwe.

He further said that Lesotho does not have its own independent broadcasting service and he wants to achieve such.

The Thetsane born and raised concluded that the response he is receiving from people is amazing.

“People love the concept and they are curious and excited at the same time,” Pule said.

He strongly promises Basotho for more channels which will cover sports and music videos.

“PCIN is willing to expand its broadcasting service to the whole of Africa,” he said.

Pule wants to make content producers aware that they can bring their content to PCIM studios which is located at Ha Tšosane.
