The multi-talented ‘Mamonyane Holoane who resides at Khubetsoana, in Maseru district, has ventured into the music industry with the release of her debut track titled Khanya le Khotso.

She noted that the purpose behind naming the track Khanya le Khotso is due to her unwavering love for light and peace. Her glittering ambition is to live a peaceful life and to instill such into the people around her.

“I titled the song Khanya le Khotso because I love light to lead the way in all of my talents. I quest for harmony to be there in my life as an individual and wish for prosperity to come. Khanya le Khotso is a prayer; it is a song that people can sing in order to channel good energies and light into their lives.” Holoane thought.

She has tried to live a meaningful life and the song attempts to usher in light and peace into the lives of others who listen to it.

Also known as Halls, she is a fashion designer and a pastry chef by profession but her love for music started at a tender age as she said she grew up around old people who listened to music particularly afro-jazz.

Her love for music found her auditioning for a singing competition called Happy Nation in 2019 which turned out to be a success as she made it to the top three.

The rising star said that growing up, her brothers used to listen to house music so this led her to love the genre. It influenced her to record a house track.

“I felt compelled to release a house song for my brothers but I would also love to tap into other genres although not all but I am open to trying certain types of music as long as they speak to me as an individual,” she observed.

Holoane said judging from the fact that this track was her first attempt into the music scene, she is very proud of how far the song has come, adding she received a congratulatory word from South African disc jockey Black Coffee. That, according to her, was significant of how Lesotho can advance in music production.

Despite the song being debuted just days after her grandmothers passing, she was not able to publicize it as much as she hoped. But luck struck when it did well as it gained fame among the Basotho.

Added to her talents is an art of making portraits and paintings while also been plunged into acting.

The future looks bright for the young musician as she dreams and plans to collaborate with Black Coffee to produce an album.
