The construction of permanent housing, visitors’ lodge and associated infrastructure worth M454-million at the Polihali Village will start this month.
According to the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA), the proposed four-star visitors’ lodge will be located on a vantage point overlooking the area where Polihali dam will be streaming in order to enhance the tourist’s experience.
The commencement of the project follows LHDA’s awarding of the construction tender to Polihali Village Joint Venture in December 2021. The Polihali Village JV comprises Lesotho-based LSP Construction and South African construction firm, WBHO.
In a statement released on Tuesday, LHDA indicated that the two companies were JV partners on the civil works and bulk utilities at Polihali and Katse Dam which were completed towards the end of 2021.
The construction work is expected to be completed in October 2023.
