In commemoration of International Men’s Day, She-Hive Association has decided to stand together and talk on behalf of men because they, too, are victims of abuse.

In her remarks, treasurer of the association ‘Mampai Lebeko said there is a programme called Men Engage where men are advised to engage more on gender based violence.

Lebeko was adamant that education to encourage men to talk about GBV should be broaden and GBV should be stopped.

“People (men) keep shut because they feel ashamed that they are being abused,” Lebeko said.

The executive director of She-give ‘Mamakhethe Phomane revealed that findings state that mental health links with acts of abuse both on the victim and culprit.

She also mentioned that November 19 is a day to teach men about good mental health.
