Local business mogul, Sam Matekane, today launched a pharmaceutical company Organica Global Brands under his cannabis company Verve Dynamics Incorporated, in Maseru.

Organica Global Brands is an innovative health and wellness solutions company that hold their foundation in the wealth of natural medicines. It provides vitality products that improve, enhance and amplify life, working with nature and science.

During the launch, Matekane said when he started Verve Dynamics Incorporated in Bela-Bela, Berea district, he hoped and dreamed that he could begin to enhance the wellness of people by capitalising on the gift of life in the form of the soil and the plants.

He said through his journey, he realised that Africans must do their level best to raise the bar and strive to get their people to a point where they can truly value and enjoy the precious gift of life regardless of their material situation.

“Health and wellness are the fuel of a well lived life. It was this dream, married with science and a love of the gift of life that I decided to start a business that will directly and indirectly improve the lives of Basotho, Africans and the world at large. A business that is rooted in the soil; that believes in sustainability of the planet we live in.

“This business will provide pharmaceutical phytomedicines, cosmeceuticals and nutraceuticals that will be made in Lesotho using organic materials sourced in Lesotho, harvested and cultivated by Basotho for the good of Basotho and mankind. This business believes in reducing the amount of artificial chemicals we put in our bodies and on our skin and increasing the amount of goodness from nature in our everyday lives,” Matekane said.

He said Organica Global Brands will revolutionise how people look at health and wellness by provision of daily use products.  He said the manufacturing company will give people nature in a bottle, be it medicines, health supplements, skin as well as hair care products.

The business mogul suggested that it has capacity to meet the needs of the people and the world.

“Our first product meets a dire need that has afflicted the entire globe, by providing symptomatic relief to respiratory infections and illnesses as well as boosting the body’s immune system and response. Made with Artemisa or ‘Lengana’ and other indigenous plants the COVICARE range will safeguard and help us deal with the harsh effects of respiratory illness and infection. Its production will create job opportunities for Basotho.

“We are in the final stages of product finalisation and I am grateful to the ministry of health in helping us get this revolutionary product over the line.

“In a few days, some business persons in private sector and myself will attend Dubai 2020 Expo where I will be introducing Organica Global and COVICARE to the world. But I must emphasise that we have a broader mission than launching businesses and products. Our mission is to shine a light on the opportunity that lies in Lesotho in the hope of boosting and accelerating our economy,” he said.
