Maluti Extreme Events today handed awards to role players in the hospitality and tourism sectors, in a bid to celebrate this year’s Tourism Month.

The event which was held at Tsereoane, Ausi Ma Park was graced by the presence of tour guides, guest house owners, hiking clubs, hotels and home stays owners donned in traditional attire.

The Lesotho Tourism Development Cooperation’s public relations officer, Molapo Matela, on behalf of LTDC, said Lesotho as a member of United Nations World Tourism Organisation is celebrating the day under the theme; ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’.

“Under this theme I would like to would like to make a call to all businesses involved in the tourism sector to support each other for their growth and the economy of the country. Let us work together as a sector.

“Covid-19 continues to cripple the tourism sector but as this year’s theme says, we need to look at ways to win in our businesses despite Covid-19. Let us improve our hospitality as Basotho start visiting the country in numbers,” Matela.
