Three men held for rape

Three men aged 27, 44 and 46 were arrested by Morija police on suspicion of sexually abusing a 42-year old woman.

According to reports, on July 19, 2021 a woman was walking from an event at Makoabating, Matsieng late in the evening. While walking along the road to Matsieng, Moreneng she came across a man who blocked and dragged her to a nearby forest where two other men were waiting.

The men sexually assaulted the woman the whole night taking turns. They also stabbed the victim with a knife but she was rushed to hospital where after being discharged, she managed to report the case on July 29.

On July 31 the first suspect was arrested and the following day, the remaining two were also arrested.

The three suspects are still in police custody and will appear before court after the completion of police investigations.

The police remind people that whoever commits criminal activities will ultimately face the wrath of the law. “Therefore, people are warned to desist from committing crimes believing they will get away with them.
