The Lesotho College of Education (LCE) will be under the temporary be closure, considering the seriousness of the risk that COVID-19 has on lives of students and staff members.

This move follows the cases of students who have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Maseru Campus, causing the college management to find it necessary to close the college.

“After the school management’s consultation with the ministry of education and training, all classes at the Maseru campus of the college are to stop with immediate effect until further notice (which has not been clarified yet). All students who are currently on this campus are expected to vacate the premises by Monday.

“Students who were due to arrive for their campus teaching and learning activities should not come until the college is reopened and new information regarding new date, is communicated. The year three pre-services supplementary examinations have also been postponed and will be written from July 5 to 9, 2021.

“All the concerned students must visit the website for the updated timetable, and only students who are eligible to write supplementary examinations will be allowed on campus during this period. Students and members are advised to stay alert for new information regarding when the college will reopen and the resumption of on campus teaching and learning activities, which will be posted on the college website and Facebook pages,” read a communication from LCE management.
