LSFW partners with Jet

In the latest of a series of partnerships celebrating fashion on the African continent, JET officially joined forces with Lesotho Fashion Week (LSFW) on April 23, as the exclusive retail sponsor for the launch of a brand new fashion, beauty and lifestyle television show called Fashion Corner.

The founder of LSFW, Mahali Granier told theReporter that this is by far the most significant partnership in Lesotho, that is aimed at connecting the vast network of Basotho creatives to global markets that care about authentic African styles.

Granier revealed that Fashion Corner is a brainchild of LSFW and explained that it is a business of fashion television show that is the ultimate gold standard of fashion in Lesotho.

She added that it brought together the movers, shakers and trailblazers of the local fashion industry and unites them with the big thinkers, entrepreneurs and inspiring people who are shaping the world of fashion globally.

She explained that the partnership between LSFW and JET is driven by her passion for Lesotho, its people and its creative talents.

“Working hand in hand will allow us to showcase the wealth of our country’s talent to international audiences, thus contributing to our creative capital and job creation for economic growth.

“The partnership will not only shift the way in which people currently view and perceive Lesotho’s fashion industry but a partnerships with big a brand like JET stimulates sales of local fashion brands.

“There’s always going to be someone that has something that you don’t – why not work with them? JET and LSFW understand the value of sharing resources and innovative ideas,” she said.

She revealed that the two brands realized that by joining forces, the partnership will allow them to further their customer reach, save money and create something magical by leveraging off each other’s unique skills and expertise.

However, she stated that every week, the show dives deep into a hot and trending topic around the business of fashion.

“The show also explores current and future styles and trends. It touches on everything from the rise of the supermodel phenomenon to the booming fashion industry in Lesotho,” she explained.

The show also features a starry lineup of local fashion pioneers. Fashion Corner is the number one window into the country’s ins and outs of the fashion industry.

Granier specified that the show’s duration is45 minutes with the first season will having 24 episodes. It airs weekly on Fridays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on YouTube, FacebookWatch and IntagramTV.

She also indicated that the show is structured to have four segments; being the fashion show, where it will show the news headlines in Fashion this week. The second segment is all about fashion goals like the feature from JET as well as from local designers.

“The presenters and guest models will wear the featured looks and do a mini runway show and take turns discussing and analyzing each look while simultaneously giving listeners styling tips and advice on what to wear this winter.

“The third segment will feature an interview with a celebrity guest, and influencer or a prominent individual, and the guests will spill contents of their bag and share what’s inside. This is called what’s in my bag. Surely one would never know what to find in one’s bag, be it accessories, designer labels or makeup.

“The last segment is all about business fashion where the presenters dive deep into a hot and trending topic around The Business of Fashion.

“The first episode of Fashion Corner airs on Friday June 4 this year at 2:00pm,” Granier stated.

Fashion Corner will be presented by the following young Basotho; Lineo Seboholi who is 19 years old, Jeremiah Jabavu, a 20-year old student and the current face of LFSFW, Charlene McPherson.
