The Member of Parliament for Mokhotlong constituency Tefo Mapesela has been relieved of his duties as minister of agriculture and food security.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday says King Letsie III has accepted the advice of the Prime Minister, Dr Moeketsi Majoro, to release Mapesela from office.

On May 21, 2020, 21 cabinet ministers and eight deputy ministers of the fourth coalition government formed by the All Basotho Convention (ABC) and Democratic Congress (DC) were sworn-in at the Royal Palace in Maseru.

Mapesela was sworn in as minister of agriculture and food security from his previous position as minister of defence and national security.
